January 2016 is the start of a New Year for kitchen counter tops in Victoria BC and the majority of Vancouver Island that RNS Granite and Stone installs kitchen counter tops for. The primarily product being used as previously discussed is quartz. Counter tops in kitchen and bathroom renovations are a key component to revitalizing your home renovation. In Victoria there are a lot of quartz products to choose from. Silestone, a quartz counter top product that home depot promotes seems to be a higher priced engineered stone, primarily because of marketing and overhead in my opinion. Followed by Silestone or equally priced are Caesarstone and Cambria Quartz in Victoria, which are sold by Colonial counter tops and Floform. Next on the list of higher end quartz products is Vicostone also marketed as Pental quartz in Victoria and other areas Naniamo, Courtenay etc. is a great choice for counter tops at a great price with many options that resemble natural granites and marbles. Pental quartz seems to be growing as a solid surface counter top option in Victoria B.C. Fir Stone is one of my personal favorites for quartz counter tops although this quartz slab based company also has a great selection of granite and other natural stones, RNS Granite and Stone uses products from Fir Stone. A huge advantage to using Fir Stone quartz for countertops are the slab sizes 126×63 which in most cases is referred to as a jumbo quartz slab and typically is available from the other quartz wholesalers but at an extra price.
